rooting in water

Union City, CA(Zone 9b)

I put 3 end cuttings , 2 end cuttings and 2 end cuttings in bottled water [ GLASSES ] 3 days ago . Yesterday changed water . Tooth picks raised about 1/2 inch from bottom . The leaves started falling today - is this normal ? The white spots have started to swell . ADVICE ?

Swelling is very good..dont worry about the leaves....strip the leaves off the cuttings and watch the roots come.....good luck you are doing a great job...Judy

I think the rabbit died - they are beginning to root, and you can pot them up now, if that is your intention, I prefer a bit of root, but others pot them up with 'nubbies', such as you have. If you put them in a bubbler, you won't have to change the water and they will root even quicker, at this time of the year. That's a guess, with a bit of experience in zone 8a, you should do better in zone 9b, lucky!! Speed ups would be H202, and the bubbler...that's what works in my zone 8a, one of the worst...
