My FAV. & beloved 'Poponeii' begonia

Aurora, TX(Zone 8a)

I was lucky enough to get this wonderful plant in a trade in early spring. At the time, it was about a foot tall (the division plantlet). I just photo'd it, along with my Size 6 Slogger alongside to show actual size. It's HUGE! I adore this plant, and am hoping it'll survive the winter outdoors under the crepe myrtles. May take a cutting just to be sure!

Kathleen,

You've done a great job Poponeii!!!! I just knew he was going to a good mommy!

Let me know if he survives the winter outdoors.

Kathleen,
Now that's the way to grow em!!
Good grief what are you feeding that thing???lol

Here's a few tips that might help:
I'd be sure and mulch that babies rhizome with plenty of mulch. If it's a cold & wet winter you may loose it to rot. If you can keep it on the dry side it will fair much better.

It's a beauty!!!
