I have the following succulents for trade. Of course I'd prefer begonias, but will entertain almost anything (no seeds unless they are super easy and really weird plants)
Please use my dmail to reply.
I'll post photos of what I have. I believe the Aloe is A. nobilis (anyone know? they're heavy), then there is Bulbine (see the yellow flower), Mother of Millions, and one Ipomea purpurea (perennial here). Not shown is Carpobrotus chilensis. All those plants falling out of their pots will be sent without the pot, bare root or as a cutting. They just need a new home. I have more than I can fit in in the greenhouse.
As they are spoken for, I'll post them as gone.
I like to follow the 'golden rule' for trades. (i.e. if I send you something, sure hope you send something to me)
Happy gardening!
Lali
CLOSED: Have lots of succulents for trade, and one morning glory too
Also have TONS of Spider plant. Solid Green and some variegated.
Would you be interested in a boxfull of unnamed daylilies? I have various shades of peaches, reds, and golds. I'd love to trade for a box of your succulents. I hope you're interested.
BC
No, in fact I have three HUGE daylilies that I want to get rid of, they are named, but I'm not a fan of them. Kind of a purply-burgundy with a yellowish throat. They ended up getting about 4' wide and I dont have the room where they are planted. So they either get moved or I'll put them up on the trade list after I dig them.
BUT I'd be happy to send you as many of the succulents as I can stuff in a box for postage. Depending on what you want, the price is $3.85, 5.40 or 7.70 (i'm pretty sure on the prices, but i may have to check.) I have paypal or if you have something other than daylilies, I'm still up for a trade.
(under a pound, up to pound and a half, or the flat rate box).
Thanks so much for the reply, looks like you are the only one who want succulents. I have about twice what I showed in the photos. they just are too prolific here!
Cheers and thanks again!
Lali
Lali, Could I do a flat rate box for postage? I just love succulents! I hope next year to do a nice rock garden out front and stuff it full of succulents.
I can't believe you don't like daylilies. That's one of my passions. I can't get enough. I'm continually ripping out more grass for more daylilies. They are so drought tolerant and thrive under my neglectful care. We can go a month or two without rain here and I very seldom water, so I look for tough, drought tolerant plants.
If you'll send me your email address, I'll shoot off a paypal payment to you right away. Thank you so much for sharing!!
BC
Butterfly, sounds good, you'll have dmail soon.
I do like daylilies, but not 'crazy' about them. i have some real respect for one, it is a tiny yellow variety that thrives in a spot that not much else will.
I have a spot that gets BLASTED by the sun, so far, Miscanthus 'Yaku Jima', Cerinthe major, kniphophia and daylilies do well there. Everything else croaked from the heat. It's a planting bed against the house - just doesn't seem to be inviting to other plants but the above thrive. So hats off to that daylily!
Cheers,
Lali
No, it never came through. Weird, mine didn't post the first time either? Hmmm?
Okay, so I'll just post it here. I am interested in the daylilies that you hate! LOL Also, a couple of your succulents and what looks like it might be an echeveria in the laundry basket?
I have two rex begonias that I can likely cut off pieces with growing eyes. ONe is called 'fireworks', the other is 'escargot'. Also have the begonia pictured below, but don't know the name of it. The flower is white, and large.
If the begonias don't interest you, take a look at my trade page.
Don't know if you like hydrangeas, but I have several kinds that I've rooted either branches or cuttings from. Some are named, some are not. I can send you a link to the hydrangea thread if you are interested in those.

Pixydish
Hi Pixy, here's a new photo. I think you are refering to #3. I don't know what it is. I've had it for about 10 years now and it is a monster, It just bloomed and I'll try and get a shot of it. It badly needs to be repotted which is why I have cuttings.
I'd happily trade it or others (not the daylilys just yet as I'm knee deep in reorganizing my greenhouse for winter. Have lots to stuff in there, hence the available cuttings.
I'll pass on Escargo, as I have three big ones but would take the noid pictured and a fireworks. If we trade for more, I'd love a purple hydrangea, actually I like any color. I had some once, but our well used to run nearly dry in the summer so the hydrangeas didn't make it. (we now have a great new well!)
Let me know if you are only interested in the one, or want a $7.70 box filled up like the other trades I'm doing.
BTY folks, the ones I know are
#2 Pork and beans
#8 Aloe sp.
#7 Bulbine (see the flower above)
Would you be interested in Brugs .I could send you a nice variety.I have 25+ different variaties of Rex Begonias but would be afraid to send them this time of year.We might could do a Begonia trade in the spring.
begoniacrazii
so are you offering the succulants for postage or are you wanting to trade i dont know if i owuld have anything you would want but either way i would love a 7.70 box full plmk and thxs for a great offer!!!!!!!!
Sure, I'll take some brugs. You should be able to send begonias now, I'm still able to mail order them. do you know the names of your rexes?
I'm already doing another trade for brugs (but a plant addict can never have enough) and here's what I have (so we don't do a duplicate)
Peaches and Cream
brug. candida
B. suavolens (yellowish orange? i think)
pink, white, yellow (boring, but they were mail order and not expensive from some big company back east)
and Dr. Suess (Seuss?)
and my trade brings in
rosenquartz and golden lady.
My preferences are pink or doubles (any color) But wouldn't say no to any one with unique flowers -you pick. Let me know what you'ld like to do. I can stuff as many into a $7.70 box and you could do the same? Not sure how big a brug cutting is.
Thanks!
Lali
Actually I'll do either. I prefer a trade because it can mean something new and exciting! But of course I'll do it either way.
Let me know what you have.
Lali
Ok I have several dbls a lot of different pinks I'll Dmail you a list of what I have ,to many to remember off hand .About half the rex have names the rest just ABS numbers.I'm afraid the begonias might freeze even going second day air our lowes here are in the upper 40 but that is about 10 degrees above normal I'd rather wait till spring just to be safe.I'll be cutting my brugs back in the morning so you tell me what size cutting do you want? 12 to 18 inches or small ones?
well i have variegated mamboo and some crocosmia is all i have right now i can fill a 7.70 box full of both if interested plmk and thxs
Closing this thread. As I start trimming again, I'll likely have more and will start again. Thanks to all who asked.
Moretz, if I start up again, I'll give you first dibs.
Cheers,
Lali
O.K. opening this up again as I have enough for two more $7.70 size boxes. First dibs goes to moretz, but that leaves one more.
I'd PREFER a trade, bring in your offers!
Thanks!
Lali
begoniacrazii
all i have right now is
crocosmia bulbs
variegated bamboo that only gets a foot tall but can get away from you if you dont watch it
plmk or i can do postage
ooh! I just spotted this! Is that last assortment box still available?
A couple of people have suggested succulents as a good underplanting in my big citrus pots (the pots are big, the lemon & key lime trees aren't so big -- yet, LOL!), as they won't be too greedy for food/water at the trees' expense. I love the idea of using several different varieties!
I'd prefer those without sharp spines (although I didn't see any spines in your photo) because of where these pots are located. I have a garden variety aloe plant that's started to make babies, but yours looks quite different. I also have a couple of small plants that look similar to #1 and #9 in your picture above. But duplicates would also be welcome, of course. I think they will like my sunny morning room.
Off the top of my head, I can offer you scented geriums ('Attar of Roses', 'Cocoa Mint Rose', 'Chocolate Mint' all well rooted, I think there may only be cuttings of 'Lime' & 'Nutmeg') and trailing (small leafed) coleus in several colors. I seem to remember from chat last week that you do not "do" African Violets? If I'm wrong, I'm putting a mess of leaves down now for spring trades, and I may still have a plantlet or two that's big enough to send.
If I can't interest you in a trade now, I could paypal postage to you. Hopefully by spring I'll have more to offer, and then I can send you a box for postage.... That way, if I still have nothing in spring that interests you, at least I'll have covered postage for these. Does that sound good?
Ya know, I pounced on this when I saw it, but now I'm rethinking the wisdom of sending plants across the entire country at this season.... It's getting cooler, but I don't think we'll get a really hard freeze yet this week... however, there are some really cold places between here & there, and I'll bet it gets pretty cold in the air cargo hold too.
Maybe I should just content myself with a few little "starter" succulents from Home Depot for this winter...
What do you think?
I think you'll be ok. If you still are interested, I would love to trade for AV's and a few cuttings of Lime SG.
I don't think it was me in the chat, maybe, i've only done the chat once. I do have some AV's and had my first success in keeping them alive this year. NOt only that but my first rooted leaf has a itty bitty baby leaf popping out. I couldn't be a more proud paren!
If you are up for it, we should wait until Monday so anything wont sit in a truck shivering over the weekend. Let me know if you are still interested, I do still have enough for one or two boxes.
Even for $7.70, that's the cost of about two 2" pots here for succulents. So you'ld be getting a whole box for the same price. Might be worth the risk?
I don't know, just let me know. AND if you want to pass, buzz me in the spring time as I'm sure I'll have plenty where these came from!
Cheers,
Lali
If you have any left, I could send you some red Spider Lily bulbs or just do postage. Thanks.
Darlene
Lali, I got my package today, and thank you so much! Such a variety! I've never seen some of these before. OMG they're awesome! You're awesome! Thank you so much! I hope they like it here.
BC
Oooooooh, Lali! My 6 yr. old is making fun of me over here, "Oooh, oh! Wow...oh, oh!" Little twerp. ;-)
I WOULD LOVE to trade for some of that semp-looking rosette echeverias [in the box time-stamped 7:39] and some of whatever if blooming red above it. I'd also die to get some of that chubby gray-green echeveria-looking stuff in the foreground at 2:12?
Ummm....I have begonias........=)
MKJ
My package came today, Man you sure can stuff a lot into one of those boxes! Thanks
Lali, I'm sorry! I forgot to keep a watch on this thread! I should have lots of AV plantlets by spring, and hopefully I'll have nicely rooted scented geranium cuttings too. I would LOVE to do a trade with you then! My citrus trees can go one winter without anything planted under them in their pots.... actually, I've already put a few scented geraniums in pots around their trunks. I'll make a note in my trade tracker....
