Hi all <
I went to Alice yesterday to meet Donna (dstartz ) . We had a great time visiting , it feft like I had known her for ever she is so easy to talk to and a wonderful lady.
She treated me to lunch than on to her house.... Wow , this lady has a greenthumb. She had gallons and gallons on potted plants and I came home with a car load of them :0)........ Say thanks to your DH for helping load the plants up..
Thanks once again for a wonderful time Donna...

Elva

I just found this. OMG, Elva, you make me blush!

I had the best time yesterday! I could have sat and visited all afternoon as Elva is, among other things, wonderfully interesting, as well as gracious. (In the backyard she was so sweet not to make mention of the mess or be annoyed by my dogs. ;-> ) I wish, now more than ever, that we could get you to the CTRU, or at least one of the 'Nursery Dates'. Maybe next year...

And don't let her kid y'all, plants and cuttings were exchanged yesterday with me walking away with multiple new varieties of brugs!!! Thanks, Elva!

Now I Iook forward to getting a job down to the Valley because it'll be the perfect opportunity to stop by for a visit. ;->

Aren't in person trades one of the greatest things? I've made quite a few new friends that way. Even one of your own Texans, Tanarae, drove 10 hours to meet with me and trade with me. We had such a great time that I followed her home. I had to. We had a big Plant Swap here and she had more plants than she could fit in her car. So I carried some of them home for her.

I spent a week at her house! She claims she didn't even get tired of me. LOL Then she sent me home with a van full of plants. My poor Sam was worried as he watched the car filling up and he finally hopped in and claimed his spot. He did NOT want to be left behind to be a Texan. LOL (See the picture below)

Texans are the best, I swear! And one day, I'm gonna be a Texan too. How far apart do you guys live from each other? Are you planning another get together? What fun!

OOOOOH, tamales! Yum Yum!! Wish I could be there!

I found a few gardeners from Daves who live near me. One lives about 10 minutes from me in the next town. If we're not physically together, we're emailing or phoning each other.

I hope y'all get together often. Gardening friends are the best.

BTW, Sam is a great gardening friend. He "waters", he "fertilizes", and he always stays on the paths. LOL
