Thanksgiving T Gravy in advance

A friend just asked me about making turkey gravy in advance. she is driving to Seattle for the big family dinner (3 hr drive) and is in charge of the gravy. W/ 30+ people for dinner and in someone elses kitchen I think she should. How do you pull this off w/out buying a huge turkey to make the gravy?
