So sad

I'm feeling sad today. An elderly friend who I hadn't seen for many years was found dead on her floor yesterday. It had been two days since her family had checked on her. They found her with dead mice surrounding her head that her cat had brought her. I am sad that Grace died alone in her home, and I am sad for her cat who obviously did everything possible to revive her. I have asked Joe to check with Grace's family to find out what they intend to do with her cat. I can't stand the thought of this animal being tossed into a shelter or euthanized. Surely a cat who tries so hard to care for his/her person deserves the same consideration.

Grace has many adult children and many more grandchildren. If none of them will take the cat, I will.

So sad.
