Some Monarch Straglers

Just got thru mulching the back beds (3 yards,whew) and noticed 5 monarch cats on the milkweed. Here ar two of them.

Nice photos. Have seen a Monarch or two still out in the garden on the butterfly weed as well. Did not see any cats but some of the butterfly weed plants do have eggs on them. Hope the weather gives them a break. Barb

Yes, purplepetunia. It took one full year for a monarch to find my Milkweed and lay eggs. This is the second time I have had them in my backyard.

Now Frits are another thing totally ! This past summer I guess that I have "given birth" to at lest 50 minimum. The frits are like the rabbits of the butterfly world.
