Problem #1 In ground vinyl pool that we no longer used, but still have to maintain.
Problem #2 Obsessive Brug Addict wants a green house for her babies, and there's not enough room for the 8 x 16 that she coverts.
Solution = Remove in ground vinyl pool and fill in the hole. Then there's more than enough room for the greenhouse.
After waiting for a month for the contractor we hired to actually do the job, it's finally done. He did a great job, and has graded the lot so that it'll drain properly in the rainy season. My husband paid him the agreed upon sum, and even tipped him an extra 50 bucks because he was so pleased with his work. Off he goes, and my husband goes in the house to shower. Imagine his surprise when he come back outside to find a big load of dirt in our driveway. Apparently the contractor and the guy that delivers dirt for him got their signals crossed, and the driver dumped an extra load of dirt in the driveway. Who knows what'll happen now.
We might not have a place to park, but at least we have a place to build a greenhouse. LOL

Free Dirt - you shovel
Wow, Mary. What are you going to do with all that dirt. LOL
That's funny, Mary but I don't envy you getting the dirt off, whew!! A couple of years ago, my hubby's mom, 90, was having her house roofed. The guy called to ask if her house was the one with the two old cars in the drive. Well, she had a 2000 auto and her friend in a 1998 Caddy was visiting, so she told the roofer that, yep, that was the house. Can you imagine our neighbor's surprise when he returned from visiting his sister that morning, to find his roof ripped off and 6 roofers piled on top of his house. The neighbor has two vintage antique cars in his drive, lol!!! The roofer and the neighbor nearly had strokes - they worked it out, but it was touchy for a while...
Wow, what a story, Sherry. That would be a surprise unless you needed a new roof for free. LOL
Ada, it was soooooo funny, I had to call my hubby/son/aunt, and tell them, before they came home, what happened, so that they would not have a heart attack. I'll tell you, the neighbor was much nicer about it than I expect most people would be - I tried to put myself in his position and I suspect I would have been pretty wound up about it, whew!
Why not, Kin? LOL! Shouldn't each grain of dirt be used? I'd hate to waste it. LOL Trying to look on the bright side.
That's funny Sherry! Glad they worked it out.
Mary
Sherry, I probably would have been wound up too. LOL
