wintering EE's

Kellyville, OK(Zone 7a)

Here's a pic of two EE's I dug up today. I am letting dry for a day or two then sealing them in a box of shredded paper. The other two (under the directions of my Mother-in-law), I am going to cover in about ten inches of mulch. I guess I will see what works next spring.

Hmmm - my ee's are huge bulb-like structures. I wonder what species I have.

When I planted mine last spring they were the size of an ostrich egg. I big bulb. Now after they are dug up they look like carrjohn's with a bunch of little bulbs attached.

Here is a picture of the EE's that I was referring to.

Nice group there!
I'm still surprised they didn't blow the walls out of that planter.

Thanks Ric. No that planter is still intact. My shopping friends husband made it for me. He used screws to hold it together. I furnished the lumber and the screws. Nice to have friends like that. He is one of these kind that no matter what I need if I ask him first he probably has it. So I have gotten in the habit of telling him what I am looking for before I go buy it. Because chances are he has it.
