Wonderful! Thank you so much.

I am in zone 6, any ideas how to store for winter?

I repot mine and cut off most the leaves and store like a banana no freezing. It contiunes to grow but slowly after if flowers it will die with no pups. But can produce seeds easily with another flowers pollen.

No Pups! Bummer. I love mine. Hopefully it takes a long time to flower. What type of pollen if needed; from what flower...any? You need to work on that Brian, lol.

Yes, that is a bummer - no pups!

I tell you mine sure did grow plenty this season. It was on one side of my garage by the front porch. On the other side of the garage was tropicanna that I got from TropicMan/Don. Sure did make a statement having them compliment each other like that.

you need pollen from anouther ensete like ventricosum or another murelli
but they need to bloom at the same time or you wont get seeds.

Their is one other way. I have not tried it as of yet but plan to this spring. Take a piece of thin metal pole and stab the plant down the center all the way into the bulb use a hammer to get it all the way through. This must be done before a bloom is even thinking of coming out. This releases a hormone into the bulb. The hormone is only released when the center meristem is damaged. Believed to be a survival tactic this also happens in musa or bananas. If a banana is chopped down you usually get a ton of pups. Some people use cleaned spikes to stab the banana bulb causing them to pup.
