Have you grown v. olympicum from seed yourself? Do you have to start them indoors? How did they turn out?

I bought the seed originally from Chilterns Seed in England on line. I planted it in the fall of last year where it was to grow outdoors. I didn't cover the seed but pushed it into the soil.
It can probably be grown in a pot in a protected area in your zone. Mine stay green throughout winter and are not affected by frost unless it is very extreme. They recover and the leaves that were affected do die back, but the root sends out more.
I am not sure how well it would transplant into the ground, but probably plant it in a deep pot so the roots are not disturbed when you do move it. After the basal growth it gets about six feet tall with the seed stalk. The basal growth is the pretty stage and it last several months here.

Hi Windy,
Do you have any of the Celosia, Orange Noah Morning Glory and Cosmos seeds left? Would love to try growing them. Thanks.
