Colocasia Coffee cups

Louisville, KY

This came out of thialand. I first saw photos of it from a good friend that lives there about 3 years ago. It took a few years to get it here and a bit of money now its starting to show up on the market. I released some this spring but most have not heard of this one. I believe it is a seedling or mutation or hybrid off of fontenesii. leaves cup up only colocasia I know of were the tip can point upward.

Interesting.
Kinda puts the best parts up out of sight though.
Npt that I wouldn't like one...........lol

Is the spathe the same color as fontenesii?

I have yet to flower it and it has grown fairly large. Though it did better last year than this year.

Cincinnati, OH(Zone 6b)

Last year was cool, cloudy and wet.
This year hot, sunny and dry.

I grow the Purple Stemmed fontenesii in a pond and it was the same both years.
I'm just now ending the blooms.

Wonder if this one's an Aquatic?
