A month ag o or so I posted a saga about my heron attacked fish. This is an update. Curzon Dax (who turned out to be Jadzia Dax) is alive and well and back in the pond. I brought her inside into an oxygenated tupperware container. Added salt on first day, treated with antibiotic for four days. noticeable improvement by days one and two, fine by day four. I put her back in the pond on the sixth day to get advantage of greater oxygenation.

she is fine, though scarred.

Reporting this just in case others have heron damaged fish. Well, also, because i love my koi!!!!!

it took a while to catch her, let me add, because my pond is big. altogether, from attack to cured release was more than two weeks. If I had a smaller pond, and had been able to catch her sooner, she would have been better sooner.

On the other hand, the heron might have done more damage.

thanks on Dax behalf for all the kind wishes.

Glad to see Dax live and well.

Wonderful! What a cool thing, to be able to help a fish get well from a heron attack!
