Does ayone have any extra alluim bulbs?
Maybe we can work out a trade.

Winnie, I'm sitting here with a bag of white which I think are all unifolium, wondering what to do with 'em.
They spread, by seed and bulbils underground, and very fast.

Let me know if you want 'em. I'll happily send on Friday!

Horning in on your thread............LOL

I planted some blue alliums a couple of weeks ago, and they're coming up! Is that normal?

Yes I planted my garlic a few weeks back and they are coming up. They love the cool weather. do you have a few bulbs to trade or for postage?

I have green onions that are very hardy here. They reseed well, but do not spread underground. The clumps get bigger though. It's only the tops you eat, kind of like chives. They are great for edging a flower bed or driveway. I would trade for anything on my want list (garden journal)

I have some walking onions. Maybe that is what yours are. I could'nt find your want list. What are you looking for?

Oh, sorry, most of my plants are listed as tabs in my garden diary.

No my onions are not walking onions. Atleast I don't think so. The person who gave them to me called them green onions.

winnie, sorry, no, I don't have any this year. This is the first I've planted them.

Walking onions grow little onions at the top of the stalks, which fall over and plant themselves, giving the onion it's name.

No, mine don't do that. I wish I had a picture of them. We just bought a good digital camera, so maybe I can get some tomorrow. The flowers they make are a globe shape, but they don't fall over.
