Check out this new variegated brug.

Check this out, look at the leaves aren't they neat. I like the variegated types, but this one is really different.

Greensburg, IN(Zone 6a)

it is lovely but $36 and six days to go ,no way.

Tellico Plains, TN(Zone 7b)

That looks like it could be Lagata's hybrid ('-'?)

SW, WI(Zone 4b)

I like, very much!.....but for that price (and only so far!) I can wait a couple of years!

Wichita, KS

Wow, that is neat looking.
Too much for my blood, though.

(Linda) Winfield, KS(Zone 6a)

If it were the first of spring and $36 is all it was going for I sure would be tempted. But hate to buy now and plan on keeping it over the winter, my luck I would loose it.

But it is different and I sure do like it.

Linda

Tellico Plains, TN(Zone 7b)

One of a kind IMO
;-)

SW, WI(Zone 4b)

I noticed, too, that the seller failed to mention the bloom color!

I guess, with that foliage....it don't matter! lol!

San Jose, CA(Zone 9a)

Pretty leaf and currently at $76. !!!

Keaau, HI(Zone 11)

Next year we will be offering them in trade!!! Let them buy it for that....then share!! LOL

Petersburg, VA(Zone 7a)

I read somewhere that this one is a sport of Snowbank.
Very pretty , but too pricey for now.
I have killed all attempts at variegated, so far.Sigh!

(Linda) Winfield, KS(Zone 6a)

I sent the seller a e-mail asking about the color. This was the answer I received,"the blooms start off light peach and turn a darker peach.
happy gardening
eddie"

I am liking this better yet.

AlohaHoya I will wait until next year to make a trade with someone, I sure hope you are right.

Laurens, SC(Zone 8a)

And people here complain about $5 for postage!! If they had to BUY cuttings at $76 each PLUS $6 shipping and handling I guess they would REALLY howl!! hehehe Bonnie

Dundee, OH(Zone 5b)

I too wrote and asked of the bloom color:
"this has to be the best blooming variegated brug of them all. the flowers are peach "

Greensburg, IN(Zone 6a)

OK now please read carefully, ANYONE THAT BUYS THIS BRUG MY NAME GOES DOWN FIRST FOR A CUTTING thank you *LOL*

I'm not sure that I like this one... I think it looks like the plant has a virus (I'm sure it doesn't) and not variegated. I also don't think the variegation shows up well. I think you'd be hard pressed to spot the varietgation from a distance.

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

Similar hybrid, probably from the same mother plant:

Only the top shows a noticeable variegation. Close up:

Monica the flower is beautifull but I don't see much variegation.

Doris

Tellico Plains, TN(Zone 7b)

lol, the first time i saw the Sunsport I didnt even see the variegation ;-)

East Texas, United States(Zone 8a)

to me that looks like $20 worth of variegation, not $76, LOL

Springfield, OH(Zone 5b)

Ah well.. you never know why folks are bidding on a particular plant. If they are trying to breed something then $76 might seem like a bargain..

Greensburg, IN(Zone 6a)

OK Laura if you get it you know who gets the first cutting.
How are your Dads brugs doing

High Desert, NV(Zone 5a)

$102.50 !!

(Mary) Poway, CA(Zone 10a)

What nice leaves. Hardly a bug damage hole on the whole plant. I'd pay that price for his secret of keeping the bugs off.

No, I'm not one of the the bidders, LOL .... but it is pretty. Variegated Brugs aren't my passion though. I'm sure the winner will enjoy it. May it go forth and be fruitful.

SW, WI(Zone 4b)

HI AXEKROSE LOOKS THE SAME AS SUNSPOT. THE FLOWER IS A LIGHT PEACH. THE VARIGATION IS SUTTLE BUT IT IS THERE. I WILL SEE NEXT SPRING HOW IT DOES. I BOUGHT IT ON EBAY. I SAW SUNSPOT OFFERED BUT NOT AXELROSE. BOB

(Linda) Winfield, KS(Zone 6a)

Besure to post some pictures next spring Bob some of us just may want to do some trading with you.

IMO , the comment on this bidders feedback was indeed 'sticking your foot in your mouth'.

Can't we discuss an auction without knocking or criticizing the bidders ? Good Grief

lol Bob , we heard ya ;-)

Hi!
Just got back from the GA roundup where I got to meet some of Dave's members in person :) (insert waving hand and big smile to them!) Yes it was a wonderful time!!
And yes, to me it looks/sounds exactly like Axelrose, and a couple of other Maya/peaches/sunset variegates that have surfaced in the last year or so. I now suspect that this variegate pattern may appear more often than was appreciated in the past, since it is judged by the professional marketers as unappealing to their potential buying group. But it seems they might have slipped up.
They didn't realize the dedication by collectors and breeders to possess and possibly breed living variegate seedlings for experimental purposes. (plus the subtle coloring is lovely, and while subdued, very attractive even without the fragrant flowers!!).
Of course I wish these bidders had been at MY auction!!!! Ah well, ......
I've only sold a couple there, mostly to let non-group people know the pattern (and breeding possibilities) exist. Mostly I have given my extra cuttings away, and asked that they be passed on in trades. There are now Batches of people out there that have it, and it (or one like it?) will no doubt show up in your garden soon.
A Confession; I Kill Seeds and Tiny Seedlings. *blush, scuffle foot,*
Some people are good with seed, some are not.
I'm not :(
I've passed up or passed on seeds from crosses that would make some here swoon, so that someone else might actually let them live!!!
Of the dozen Axel kids in my seedling bed, and l those I killed, none were albino, but none variegated. Of the two that have bloomed thus far (in a horrible growing season) one Axel x EP is a stunning fragrant large versi type flower with long curled tendrils, great form and fragrance. But snow white. The other looks like a direct throwback to KBS.
I want so much to see more results!!
Whichever of these variegates you buy or trade for, there is every reason to think they too will throw few or no albinos. Please, those who can, grow out the seeds???!!!!!

PS What if anything has come of that recent yellow flowered varigate, Jamie? Did it turn out to be Maya, renamed? I've seen so little mentioned about it, I have to wonder..............?

(Linda) Winfield, KS(Zone 6a)

This one did extremely well. $635.00

Yukon, OK(Zone 7b)

LOL...I saw that!
