Which rose pic do you like?

Ottawa, ON(Zone 5a)

Am working on a gardening page for my family web site - sorting through 2005 pics and making them small enough for Internet.

I can't decide between these two pics of the same rose. Don't know off-hand what variety it is - I'll see if I still have the tag.

Here's a mixed answer for you :-) As a thumbnail, I like #1, but full-size I prefer #2. --Ginny

Here's another option - it's #2 with a bit of air brushing.

Now air brush that little bit of yellow background on the left, and its perfect!

That really would be perfect!

I love #2.

How did you airbrush that?? What program?? THANKS

Victoria, BC(Zone 8b)

either are wonderful, hard to pick.

Moose Jaw, SK(Zone 3b)

Gorgeous (all of them;).

St. John's, NL(Zone 5b)

Air-brushed is the best...I love that feature and have used it at times (my pictures are not always as good originally as I post!...tricks of the trade :)

I used Corel Photo House to adjust the picture. Sometimes I use my scanner software, but Corel Photo House has a tool which allows you to pick up the color of the image you are working with. I also sometimes cut and paste a section of background from elsewhere and then blur the edges. I use undo a lot! LOL

Maybe if I spent some time with someone who really knows what they are doing I would get better at it. I just zoom in really close and work little by little. But it's not too difficult to carefully remove distracting background or soften the scar on my grandson's face, etc.

BTW The rose is tentatively identified as a Chicago Peace. I recalled that I had one at one point and so I asked the Rose forum. They agree.

Oostburg, WI(Zone 5b)

Beautiful! #2

Very hard to chose, but #1 for me. Both exquisite.

I actually decided on #2 once i airbrushed the background. I think it was mostly because the yellow centre showed more clearly.

I have just uploaded the page of my garden pics from 2005 -

there is also a link to my new garden construction.
