Is this really Agave americana 'Variegata'? All the other images here and on various websites online show a different look plus teeth.

This is not like any Agave americana I have ever seen... not even convinced it is an Agave... can you show a larger pic of it? maybe it's a form of Agave sisilana.

Here is the same plant.

that is Agave sisalana.

Although the plant looks correct, the variegation is on the outside of the leaf. The images of Agave sisalana 'Variegated' http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/62795/ show variegation on the interior of the leaf like a medio-picta. Thoughts?

Either way, it fits Agave sisilana in form and shape. It is not Agave americana, a wide, thick, spiney-leaved plant.

So, palmbob, with the images currently in A. sisilana 'Variegata' - they are all with the variegation in the centre of the leaf. Should a new entry be made for 'Medio-picta' to move all the images over before this one is moved to 'Variegata'?

Well, I would say yes, only I cannot be 100% sure the above plant is Agave sisilana... but it sure looks like it.
