Will Stuttgart canna

be ok to leave in ground or pot outside in zone 7b?
I think these are more tender than other cannas??
I only have one small plant & sure don't want to kill it.
Thanks for any info.

Cincinnati, OH(Zone 6b)

Canna in 7b?
I'd bring it in.
They are marginally hardy in Zone 7b.

Ric

We can grow cannas here in the ground year round.
They do die down in the winter but put back out in the spring.
Just didn't know if Stuttgart is hardy as other cannas??
Anyone that grows Stuttgart, please give any info on how you grow yours.
Thanks for any information.

edit: to shorten.

hickory, NC(Zone 7a)

i got mine off of a trade this year but i brought mine in because i didnt have a baby to get off of it to see if it would come back i would bring it in if i was you

Thanks moretz, that is what I will do.
But what do I do with it after,I bring it inside?
Sorry,to sound so dumb, but I have never brought a canna inside the house before. Pot it up or have the rhizome with no soil on it-leave it bare?

hickory, NC(Zone 7a)

well mine is potted up and in my gh it might go dormant if it isent warm enough to keep the foliage alive

Thanks moretz!

you're welcome

Stays out in zone6 if mulched up. I have it up against the house and mulch it. I have found that the further from the protected area it grows the greener the plant has become.

Thanks b-I think it would be ok here,if I do like you grow yours but since I only have one small plant,I will wait until mine start having pups-I don't want to kill the only one I have. I'm not very brave :)
