I have lots of VERY old, maybe heirloom, orange canas if anyone wants some. Don't know the variety. They have been in the garden our our 1899 era home as long as anyone remembers. Here is a photo. Maybe the old house garden guy will know the variety. I posted it on the heirloom forum and he often hangs out there. If he replys I'll let you know. Paypal for one of those flat rate boxes would work well for me. These tubers are heavy so I think that would be the cheapest way to pay postage and I'll fill the box.
CLOSED: Very old canas for postage

I think this canna is CITY OF PORTLAND ....
Elva: I agree! I have always guessed it was City of Portland. That is the bad thing about very old plants....people loose track of the name.
So far plants are going Monday to Breeze, Jlmmkm, Crystal, Emh, and Gskinner. Gina I'll DM my paypal address to you. I really appreciate you guys paypaling upfront. It is expensive to ship lots of 7.70 boxes. You guys are very thoughtful.
Robin

I'd like some too please. I don't have paypal. Can you tell me how to do it? Or can I just send you the cash. plmk
luckpup
Hi Luckpup: You should get paypal. It is absolutely the easiest way to send money. Lots of people on Daves use it to pay for postage because it is easier than mailing checks or cash. Just go to paypal.com and it will explain how to set up an account. Just get the simple one to move cash around, not credit cards, or else they charge you a fee. The simple one is free. I'll send you an e mail about paying for the postage on the cannas.
Robin
I set up paypal to use on ebay........but I dont know how to use it here or anywhere else..........HELP..step 1? 2? 3?
OK. Here are the easy steps.
1. First go to paypal.com and log in on the upper left of the screen. If you already set it up for ebay you should have a e mail address and password.
2. At the tab accross the top click on "send money".
3. It will bring up a form to fill out asking who you want to send it to and how much. My paypal address is thripmaster@aol.com and the amount is $7.70
4.Then click on "continue" and it should easily walk you through confirming that the address and amount are correct and send the money. Easy as pie!
The only problem you might have is if you don't have any money in your paypal account. I always keep about 20 in my account just for trades. Your paypal account should be attached to one of your checking accounts. To put money in there here are the steps.
1. From the home page click on "add funds". It is on the tabs accross the top that are just below the main tabs.
2. That will take you to a screen that will show you what checking account is attached to your paypal account an ask you how much to put it. Fill that out and click "continue" and it will transfer the money from your checking account into paypal. Then you have it for whenever you need to make trades or purchase from ebay.
Hope that helps. It really is easy once you do it.

btw: Do you want some cannas? If you do I'll save you some.
yes, i do and i will see if i can do the paypal when I get a chance today
thanks
hey...........thanks... that was easy enough....payment on the way..........
Jackie

Thrip,
Did I miss out or do you still haev some left?
K
Hi Knot: I think that PR is the perfect place for cannas! They would probably be very happy there. Are there any shipping restrictions,? Is it expensive to ship there. I have never done it.
Robin
Same as if I lived across the street from you.
LOL
We are part of the US postal system.
Throw whatever extras you have at me and let me know asap the shipping and I can send it through paypal.
Thanks for the opportunity and in the spring let me know what I can send you.
Have a great evening.

OK Knot. Yours are going out today! You can paypal me the postage at thripmaster@aol.com. It is 7.70 for one of those flat rate square boxes. Glad you got yours Margo. Seems priority mail moves pretty fast within the carolinas!
R
Thanks Knot...got your paypal. Shipping today. Stay safe from hurricaines!
Robin..WOW! Thank you so much! Got mine today..can you tell :) Thank you bunches!!!!! And for the messenger! Never heard of it but am going to give it a try. Thanks again!
Margo and Breeze, I'm glad you liked the Messenger. I use Messenger and really like it. But, you should know that I am a scientist for the company that makes it...I could be a little biased. :) That is why I have those sample packets. You probably haven't seen it around because it is only available in nurseries in big cities or on line. The technology is from Cornel University. The active ingredient is "harpin protein". Harpin proteins are proteins that are secreted by pathogenic bacteria. The harpin protein in Messenger comes from the bacteria that causes fireblight in apple trees. These harpins don't cause diseases, they trick the plant into thinking that there is a disease present and cause the plant to mount its own natural defense. So, Messenger causes plants to be healthier without chemicals. But I like it because it also makes things bloom. I guess that when a plant thinks that there is a disease present it goes into reproductive mode so that it can carry on the species. If you have a greenhouse then you can try it this winter, otherwise save it till spring. That packet mixes up in 1 gallon of water and sprays 1000 ft2. Spray on the leaves. So it goes a long way. Should be enough to spray your whole flower bed. I retreat about once a month. Hope you like it.
Robin
Thanks Robin for all the great info! Sounds like a very interesting job you have :) So if we really like the way it helps the plants be healthy and grow we can get ahold of you and you'll hook us up with more right? WINwink....thanks again! :) I can't wait to give it a try.
You guys are great!
Wow,
Thanks, that was quick.
I have heard you'all talking about the messenger. I am sure they can add me to their client list .
Thanks again, you are a gem.
K
