Who is the mystery sender? Boojum's up and down day.

Shelburne Falls, MA(Zone 5a)

I had this really awful day at the HOSPITAL. I have a gallstone it turns out. Lots of intense pain. They will take out my gallbladder next week. After all the pain drugs, I spent most of the day sleeping. Then my doctor sprang me and I came home. Home, Sweet Home! And there was a mystery package for me with cuttings from Halo Peach, Insignis Solid Gold, Insignis Coral, Frosty Pink, Versicolor Peach, Versicolor Apricot, Herren hauser Garten, and Isabelle. WOW! I would love to pay for shipping and I'm so excited!!!!!!!!!!

Corte Madera, CA

kathy, so sorry to hear about your gallstone. i hope you will only undergo laparoscopy and not the old-fashioned gall removal.

glad your day had a really up side! we are so lucky there are so many generous DGers =).

Shelburne Falls, MA(Zone 5a)

Yes, twill be laparoscopy! Thank goodness for all our generous DGers!!

(Mary) Poway, CA(Zone 10a)

Take care of yourself! I had my gallbladder out in the spring ... the old fashioned way. Doing fine now, but the laparoscopy technique makes recovery much, much faster! I just came back from Rhode Island Sunday where I 'enjoyed' 8 days of rain. Did you get as much there in Mass?

Booj! I am sorry you had such a rough day. However..I am SURE that whoever sent you such a nice gift does not want any postage! Otherwise why send it as a surprize? Just enjoy and get well soon

Springfield, OH(Zone 5b)

OH..when are you going in the hospital?? I was going to send your cuttings Monday but if you would rather I held them until you got out I will

Burleson, TX

Oh man I had mine out in the Spring..I never knew such intense pain until my attack and the joys of valium.....you will feel so much better when it is out I didn't even realize I had felt so bad....what a great suprise to find after all that....

Best of luck with your surgery, Kathy. Hope you feel much better.

I think that pkg was supposed to go to ME!!! LOL Get that nasty GB out- you'll feel much better- speaking from experience..However after surgery, I still had some small gall stones that had to pass= felt like for two weeks, then (after they shot out) like a million bucks!

What a Welcome surprise pkg. after your terrible day. Best of luck with your surgery and a speedy recovery.

Shelburne Falls, MA(Zone 5a)

Wow everyone. Thanks for all the support! I can't wait to feel "like a million bucks." Jazzpunkin, I'm supposed to have the procedure on Tuesday. I certainly will be able to stick the cuttings in water when I'm home or I can ask my DBF. Funny I'm not fretting about work or money. All I want to do is garden stuff.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Ah too bad. I remember that pain. You will be out in your garden so soon after the laparoscopic cholecystectomy though. Lucky you that they are doing it so fast. We all will be thinking of you Tuesday.

Sounds like you got lots of brugs, something to look forward to.

Burleson, TX

Boojum just take full advantage of it and milk it a little and you will have more time to garden...LOL

Stockton, CA(Zone 9a)

Oh Boojam, you really WILL feel so much better afterwards. I had mine removed this summer & I cannot tell you how nice it is to not have that pain. I will be thinking of you on Tuesday & looking forward to hearing how you feel after you get home. Word of advice, buy a toilet booster seat, it is a long drop when you can't use your stomach muscles. LOL And congrats on your lovely surprise package!

Hi all. Think of me on MONDAY instead. My white bloodcount was higher than normal this AM so they've decided to stick me on antibiotics early and do the surgery sooner. They're starting to know me in the emergency room and ultrasound! Thanks for the toilet seat tip! and for all your encouraging words. I especially like the idea of gardening longer although the weather is really not cooperating till Friday here. I have everything under control. Got all my amarylli on the window sills, all the houseplants are in, all brugs in water, lots of the gardens are cut down. My once a week gardener is coming to plant bulbs tomorrow, I've already written instructs. Now all I have to do is call in work and one private client and I'm set. All that will be left is mulching roses and there's time for that.

Kathy, sending happy thoughts and prayers for your full and speedy recovery. Take good care of yourself!

Shelburne Falls, MA(Zone 5a)

Hello all you wonderful good wishers!
I am home after the laparoscopy and even though the honeymoon drugs are over and I feel like the day after a car accident, I'm doing quite well!! I can walk around and of course hang out on the old computer and on the telephone as much as I want.
Thank you for all your good thoughts! I think it made a difference!

Great!
Glad to hear everything went well.
Hope you have a speedy recovery and don't spend tooooo much time here on DG...LOL
Take care and thanks for checking in with us.

So nice to hear from you & so soon! I was in the hospital for a week. Wonderful for you! Hope you have a speedy recovery. :~)

Shelburne Falls, MA(Zone 5a)

Thank you. I'm so glad to be home. The surgery was longer than normal-2.5 hours and the surgeon said it was a very sick gallbladder, but they managed to stick to the laparoscopy! Or I would have been there till Thursday (my birthday no less). Instead I will be home watching my once a week gardener put in bulbs and put the garden to bed!! I'm so glad to have him this year! We may have SNOWSHOWERS here tonite.

Did you find out who sent the cuttings.

Shelburne Falls, MA(Zone 5a)

Thanks kareoke! No I never did find out but daily there are little hearts being sent out to all the DGers from here because of her/his generosity. I get all fuzzy warm inside when I see them greening up in water with their little tags! Especially in this low health time I am amazed at how much energy a plant can give you.

Greensburg, IN(Zone 6a)

Well enjoy you will enjoy them all winter, and they will be ready for a garden spot next spring. be sure to show pictures.
