I have been seeing a lot of these butterflies lately and finally managed to get a picture. I love the circles on the wings. I wish I had gotten a picture of the other side but it would flutter every time I focused lol!
late season butterfly in Tn.

Ha ha Magpye! You got me there... I've become an unbearable picture showoff since DH got me this camera last Christmas. And thanks koncreteblond for the name - I have big plans for a butterfly book on my picturetrail when the winter gets here and I'm not working outside so much. That's when I figured I'd look up all the names. Although I sure have learned a lot from you all this season. Thanks! :-)
So - back to the showing off part... here's another one lol!
Ahhhh, lilyfantn .. Mitey purtee! You go right on .. Keep it up.
You jes 'show off' to your hearts' content, and then some ...
I, for sure .. am thoroughly thrilled and am tryin' my level best, to see and enjoy .. every one of them ... that you, and so many other folks .. post on these forums!!! It's becomin' a mite bit of a chore for me sometimes ... tis doggone sure, gettin' harder & harder to keep up ...
( .. couply xtree lil pats on that hubby's back .. fer us too! oK? .. )
Keep us in suspense now .. and don't you go tellin' us what camera you have. I haint gone be a pryin' none, not moi' ... ((NOT!!)) .. Ok, spill it .. what ya totin' there? (lol)
Heck you've probably posted that info elsewhere, & it's fallen into the pits, with so much of the other stuffs that I manage to miss by a mile .. on most any given day.

Awww, you're too kind Magpye! I don't mind sharing camera info at all. These are all taken with a Nikon D70. I really need to learn how to properly use it. I take all my pictures on auto focus. Hubby also added a short range telefoto (18-70 mm) because I wanted to take mostly daylily pictures. The short range lens works well for butterflies too!
Quite a bit more 'versatility', with the addt'l lens ..
And a wee more megapixels, than my ol trusty Fuji !! .. (hee) .. I fear, that it shall not be easy for me .. to put her down when 'the time' comes though ...
Thank you .. for the info about your cam'ra, lilyfantn. And am mitey proud fer ya!!
