New heat for the greenhouses

Louisville, KY

We are now putting in radiant heating for the greenhouses. From what I gather this is the best way to heat and grow your plants. The furnace is outside and is heated by wood. It heats the water to 180 f and is circulated into the pipes which will soon be cemented into the floor. I am hoping the floor will stay around 70f for winter. I just checked the greenhouse they have the cement put into them today and are already fogging up. Heating the floors makes it fog up and is just amazing for growing and propagating. Will put photos of the progress.

Almost seems like were stepping back in time, where heating with firewood and steam raditators like in the victorian days, when they used boilers down in the cellars,ah technology has taken us to new heights!!
Or are we running in circles!
Makes you think!
Maybe solar cells and panels on top of greenhouses are next.or are they already here????

I may look into something like that!

We are running our heating system by computer, we also have humidity operated by computer. It is constantly being misted.
I'm talking about the Huntington Gardens new Tropical house. We have no solar panels anyplace yet. Perhaps that will be next. Norma Lewis
