I actually shouldn't blame the poor bulb because last year, having never planted bulbs before, I planted some white daffodil bulbs early. Not know any better I planted them early August which I soon found out was completely wrong. The poor guys started to grow and I had a bunch of stalks during the first frost. I tried to keep them covered but they still got very damaged. This spring they grew a bit more but then died back. I thought they would rest until next spring but apparently they have other plans and have just started to send up leaves again. My question is, finally, are these bulbs committing bulb suicide and very confused or did I really mess up and manage to kill another plant. Is there anything that I can do to help them? I didn't plant very many bulbs, about 50, but I feel bad for them.
Thank you for any help.

confused bulbs
They will get on cycle next year, though you may not get blooms this spring. Did your flowers actually send up flowerbuds or just leaves? The bulbs should be OK. I have had that happen and they usually adjust. They were probably kept in a cooler somewhere and if your weather was warm they thought it was spring.
I'm only worried because happened last fall as well. I thought one summer in the ground should fix the problem. They were pretty cheap when I bought them so I should just stop worrying about them and go buy new ones. :) They did only send up leaves so I think that should help the bulbs not expend as much energy.
Thank you for the quick response!
