I have some seeds, still in the pods (but ripe) that I'd like to hold 'til spring. (Bad winter light, no room, etc.) I don't have a cold frame but I have a spare refrigerator. Can I store the seeds unplanted or do I have to store moist in soil?
I know most lilies should be started as soon as the seed is ripe, but I don't wanna.
I'm posting here first.
Please help! Thanks!

Can I store L.formosanum seed over winter?
I've stored them for a couple of years with no problems, they seem to germinate just as readily.
Take them out of their pods, put in an open container for a few days to dry very well, then into an airtight baggie/container, with name and date and into the freezer with them. They will last many years this way.
Inanda
I let them reseed and they will bloom the first year from seeding. Never have stored them.
Thanks for the responses.
Just another question for Baa: How did you store your seed? In the frig or in the freezer as inanda did ?

Ed. part:
PS I put mine in the freezer.
