Since I am leaving on vaction on Sunday, and know that my brugs. will be about done blooing by the time I get back, I couldn't resist shooting pictures. These are the brugs. blooming in my garden today. I also have several unknowns, and a couple of Kells seedlings just starting to bloom.
This first one is my vixen x ? cross. You can see that it bloomed darker with the first flush. Our night temperatures are dropping, so the blooms are getting really light.
Couldn't Resist
Patricia, they are all so lovely. The bloom in the second photo is just stunning.
Your gardens are so lovely. everything looks so lush which I'm sure is not an easy feat with the heat in the Central Valley. Enjoy your vacation!
I almost didn't want to leave for our trip because I was so afraid I wouldn't get to see the seedings bloom. It is sad to realize that in a couple weeks, it will be time to take them down for the winter.
Thanks for sharing these! Almost as good as being able to see the real thing. I don't get quite the chill you do so am leaving all mine out except for some seedlings and new cuttings. Survival of the fittest. Last winter was the first time my double white didn't get dropped to the ground by the frost, it was such a mild winter and that short burst of frost in Nov. only burnt the top outer leaves. Hoping for another mild winter.
Enjoyed all your pics. You have some beauties. Was hoping Knighti x PB would be that double pink, no luck.........
Thanks for sharing with us.
Wow, you calif girls sure can grow these brugs!!!! I love Golden Lady....maybe I will have some of ya'll talent I was born in Oxnard but moved to Texas when I was a kid...LOL

Thank you all. I could almost cry thinking about leaving them. This is the best time of the year for blooms for me.
They're all so pretty, Patricia. Have a wonderful vacation
You have some gorgeous plants and blooms Patricia! I think the brugs really love this time of year here in CA !
I know what you mean about leaving them...I have that trouble with leaving my flowers too, but do have a good time!
I agree Margie, mine are just covered in flowers. Yours are gorgeous Patricia. I loved having a great look at them all. Thanks so much. You have ones I don't so it was great fun to see new ones too.
Your brug is gorgeous too Sue,. They sure do put on a great show.
Patricia, your garden your garden is wonderful, healthy and loaded and very pretty!! Sue yours is to die for too, so much packed in one photo, wow!! Patricia, so you leave yours in the ground for the winter??? They are all beautiful and your P&C is special, such a large, healthy brug, and obviously loves where it lives. I forget, doo you take yours inside Patricia, or just cuttings?
Sherry, I live inland of Kell, so some years we do get quite alot of frost. I can cut them back to the ground and they will come back from the roots. I usually just take cuttings and start new one's each year. They seem to bloom sooner for me that way.
Thank you all, I just love this plant. I was so frustrated earlier in the summer, and felt like giving up on them, but now I am really able to enjoy them.
