This is the most entertaining of brugs. No 2 blooms ever look alike.

The tendrils often go every which way. Much like Susie's tall tales. LOL

She is really a fun brug. Almost as much fun as Susie is!!

THANKS Susie for everything!!

Northern California, United States(Zone 9a)

I saw her in person today and each bloom is entertaining with all those trendrils doing their curly Q thing so the name is very appropriate.

"Pleased" to meet Susie Q!!
With those tendrils going every which way it makes her entertaining as well as beautiful.
Another beauty

Grass Lake, MI(Zone 5a)

It is beautiful Kell ... but you may want to come up with some other name:

RICHMOND, VA(Zone 7b)

A Cal. informal, bouncy colorful girl, cheerful as can be; maybe Cheerleader could be her name.

Livermore, CA(Zone 9a)

I love her shape. Susie Q is a great name for her. She looks really bouncy and saucy.

Patricia

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 9a)

She is just to pretty. Cindy

Kannapolis, NC(Zone 7b)

Beautiful bloom even if you can't name her Susie Q.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

OH NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!! I have been calling her Susie Q for 2 years!!! I checked the registries. I bet that seller doesn't have such a good friend named Susie!! LOL

Exactly, she is bouncey!! LOL. She is a clear pink, and just a really nice brug all around.

Springfield, OH(Zone 5b)

Was it in the registry?? Argh. How about Curly Sue???

Springfield, OH(Zone 5b)

Well I went to the site that shall not be named and didn't see Suzie Q listed.. is there another place?? Of course I thought their list was rather short.. Is there another.?

Edited to say that I found it on BGI.. it said that hybridizer was Susie French.. is that the Susie you know?? If so I would think that would make it a little easier to take.. the sad side was it was registered just this year.. ah well

I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOO DEPRESSED. I just saw it also. I guess I had looked in the galleries in error, stupid me. I have never registered any of mine. I was not planning too either, I may have to rethink this.

This one is so Susie Q. The name is so perfect. Besides that, she is Susie Q to me. Shoot, she even had a song song about her by the Rolling Stones.

Springfield, OH(Zone 5b)

I KNOW!! It's perfect.. sigh.. I know.. name her Suzie Q Too!

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Kell, I think part of this may be my fault. When he told me he was naming it Susie Q, I didn't know you had one too. I told him I didn't know of another, so it would be okay. I'm so sorry. I know you probably told me and I probably forgot.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Now to get Mick to sing her a new song. LOL I just have to find one that fits her personality as well!!

No Susie, I hadn't told you. I was waiting the 2 years to see if she was a keeper. She has a nice flush right now so I thought I would spring it on you!!

Springfield, OH(Zone 5b)

hmm.. Curly Q Susie? Susie's Curls? Susie Q Pink?

Moscow, TN(Zone 7a)

She shore is a pretty little thing no matter what you name her! You and Susie did a good job!

Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

Sad. Kell's has been trialed and proven for 2 years. The other is a first year.

SE Arky, United States(Zone 8a)

Try Susie QT...so close...

Indiantown, FL

Your Susie Q is much prettier than the other, the other didn't strike me as anything special or it would be in my yard right now. I think your Susie Q would find her self a home here, she is pretty.

Connie

She's a beauty, congrats to both of you.

SE Arky, United States(Zone 8a)

BTW, is there a complete listing of all the brug names, probably not, but, if so, I'd like to know where to look. Should names be entered some place, even if one does not intend to register the brug?? I have a couple of seedlings that I am going to name, for identification, but I do not plan to register them. TIA!!!

Tellico Plains, TN(Zone 7b)

Sherry , If they are good enough to name , why wouldn't you register it ?

SE Arky, United States(Zone 8a)

Scoot, that is a very good point, and I'm pleased you asked - see what you think: I have a number of seedlings (grown from seed) that are nice, several of the same cross and I have several family members that would like cuttings and a couple of brug pals. There isn't a good way to differentiate between the seedlings, numbers won't do it for us, the cross + ABC or 123 is cumbersome, so I'm planning to name them for my daughter, son's wife, on and on. Most likely, they are look a likes and that is the reason I do not plan to register them; however, they were 'adopted' (hybridizer lives in a special zone), but they were sown, born and reared in Arky, and they are unusually strong, vigorous, are not bug magnets, or disease/fungus prone and, amazingly, to me anyway, the one I plan to name for my daughter, missed getting a stake, as did several others, and, by golly, they are so thick and strong stalked/trunked that they don't need it AND, big point, they do not wilt and swoon in my heat/humidity, and, as if that is not enough, they resisted chem burn, defoliation by granules, hail, beheading by limbs, and other various wounds (bikes/dogs/cat scratching trunks/etc), as well as swarming Western Flower Thrips blown in by Katrina. OTOH, I have registered brugs that were unable to withstand such conditions in my zone. This is just a thought/question, Scoot, do you think, despite being conceived in other areas, that seeds born, reared in a particular might become better adjusted from the get go than brugs I might have received as rootings/cuttings, whatever, from other areas??? If what I have posted inspires a tiff, or cross words, please advise privately, as I do not intend to continue my participation in this thread, should I have crossed an invisible line that I don't quite understand. Okey, dokey??!!

Myrtle Beach, SC

Okay Kell try this: Sweet Susie Q.....just kidding...that is one gorgeous Brug....congrats !!
Margo

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

how'bout ..........Cuesue?

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Margo, Susie is sweet. So maybe. LOL. This is so hard for me because I have been calling it it Susie Q for a long time in my head.

LOL Laura, you have some good names too.

Cuesue? LOL CC. I am missing this one. Maybe Susie Cue??? What do you think???

SE Arky, United States(Zone 8a)

Susie Cue has my approval, lol!!

Hot Springs, AR(Zone 7b)

Kell,

What ever you name her and register as you must let us know. I ALMOST bought the Susie Q on eBay because I thought it was the one you grew out. BUUUTTT no offense Susie, the one selling on eBay does not compare to the one that just lost its birth name, so I didn't getting it thinking it was an imposter. LOL! I am so glad I waited. I want the one Kell is testing! Good looking brug Kell.

There is a song for Charlene and Pretty Woman!!! I like Pretty Woman, kinda has the same funky beat!

Daisy

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

OH NO Daisy.......... I will be hearing Roy Obison all day now. LOL

Pretty woman walkin’ down the street
Pretty woman, the kind I like to meet
Pretty woman, I don’t believe you
You’re not the truth
No one could look as good as you
Mercy

Pretty woman, won’t you pardon me
Pretty woman, I couldn’t help but see
Pretty woman, and you look lovely as can be
Are you lonely just like me

Pretty woman, stop a while
Pretty woman, talk a while
Pretty woman, give your smile to me
Pretty woman, yeah, yeah, yeah
Pretty woman, look my way
Pretty woman, say you’ll stay with me

Cause I need you
I’ll treat you right
Come with me baby
Be mine tonight

Pretty woman, don’t walk on by
Pretty woman, don’t make me cry
Pretty woman, don’t walk away
Ok

If that’s the way it must be, ok
I guess I’ll go on home, it’s late
There’ll be tomorrow night

But wait, what do I see?
Is she walking back to me?
Yeah, she’s walking back to me
O-oh
Pretty woman.

Susie Q is a playful brug. A entertainer from start to finish.

Here is one that is a Pretty Lady! Thru and thru. A Pretty Lady with with very pink and very high heels. I was thinking of calling her Sultry!

I noticed the one on E-Bay is spellied Susie Q.
Can you legally name yours Suzie Q?
I like it with the Z better anyways *lol*
You could even spell it Suzee Q. also *lol*

Kim

Corte Madera, CA

kell, if you ever run out of names to name your brugs. ehem, "annapet" is not taken yet. lol. that will be a dream. i'd love to be a jackfruit yellow brug or a really loud pink.

=)))

Columbia, SC(Zone 8a)

WOW Kell, that IS special. Sorry your favorite name is already taken. Maybe Susie has a name she would like to see on it.

SE Arky, United States(Zone 8a)

Hahaha, finding super names is almost as much a talent as growing super brugs, LOL!!!

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

I think names are not supposed to be so similar that they may be confused. And Susie's name is spelled Susie with a S. But good try, Kim. LOL. I could just keep it as Susie Q and not register it but I guess that would be in bad form and frowned upon by the powers to be who ever they may be. LOL

I will keep that in mind Annapet. LOL.

I was naming it Susie Q because this brug looks like a Susie Q and because Susie is such a friend. I think I will end up naming it a totally different name and when another brug comes along that lends itself to being named for Susie in some way, I will use that opportunity to honor her.

I tried!!

Syracuse, NY

hi Kell i saw susie Q on ebay almost bid on it. calls yours curly Q the other brug was not as nice as yours. bob
