Look I know this is a bit off topic, but I need some info, and I've always received excellent info from the folks here at DG's.

I need to buy a telescope for my nephew. He's 12, not particularly well educated in the sciences, but eager to view the sky. Astronomy is not my thing, so I need help figuring out what type of scope would be best for him. They have a PC but no one in the family appears overly proficent with it so I'm not sure if a computer controlled version is such a good idea. I'm hoping to spend around $150, will to go up to $200, planning to purchase online.

Can anyone offer advice? Child eagerly awaiting delivery of telescope so much thanks in advance for any help you can give.
