Pellionia pulchra shingling.

Cincinnati, OH(Zone 6b)

A while back we were talking about Shingle Growth in climbing plants.
Brian, I think, mentioned that some Pellionia can grow this way.
I totally forgot I had Pellionia pulchra in my Vivarium.
Here it is 'shingling' away. lol

How Cool!
I didn't even know that they flowered.
I picked mine up as a $1.29 Exotic Angel pot-lette at HD.
They had dozens.

I purchased this plant last fall because I really like the foliage color, and it was half price, lol. So when I found that it was budding up, I did a little happy dance. I will post pics when it opens so you can see what to look forward to. Happy Gardening!

Looks great. I have a pic somewhere if it growing all over a wall and tree as a shingler. But as it matures it will start to shingle then hang which looks fairly odd.

I stopped at HD on the way home tonight.
(We got some bead board for the new GH)
They had 3 1/2" pots for $2.99.

This started out in the middle of my Vivarium.
I moved it to the corner so I could find the newts.
Now it is growing up and out of the tank.
I guess I'll justhang a totem above it and let it keep climbing. lol

To cool! Way to go, Eden! Now Ric if you put a totem above it to have the plant grow up it won't the newts climb up it and you will have newts all over the place?

Ric, that is a cool looking plant for sure.

You have mentioned your Vivarium several times, could you please post a picture of yours. Is it a large one and where do you keep it?

I'll have to work up a construction set.

Here's the Pellionia as we bought it.
I just realized the pot has a clearance sticker on it.

Thanks and You're Welcome repectively.

My shots appear lost in my computer crash lash Spring.

I just ran w/ their ideas.
It REAL easy and cheap to build one.
