Gee I only sent you 4??? I must have been feeling cheap. LOL.

I have so many other kinds now. I still haven't put them in seed packets though.

Corte Madera, CA

kell, they are huge though. the biggest brug seeds i've seen.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Thanks Ada and Annapet,
Is Rothkirch's one of Monika's ?

It is a beautiful color and Butterfly I just looked up again today because I got Shirley's cuttings in the mail today .

It is so exiting to grow from seed, isn't it ?
I will plant some Brug seeds also right off.

The first thing I do in the mornings for days or weeks after sowing check them diligently to see what came up during the night LOL...right now I have some Datura's and my own crosses of Daylilies growing.I am especially exited to see eventually my own crosses and more so that each seed in a pod WILL be DIFFERENT!

Ada,is that the same with Brug's ? or are they true to the parent just like a cutting ?
Brigitte

Tellico Plains, TN(Zone 7b)

Brigitte, the only true copy of a brug must be a cutting of the plant.

Seeds NEVER come out like either parent .

Each seed in every pod will be different from one another also.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

If I were you I would demand a refund, Annapet. LOL!!

Anyway, 2 week is not really very long, Annapet. Sometimes it takes much longer, depending how old the seed is. Did I date the little envelope? I usually put the harvest date on them.

How did you start them? You know they like light to germinate?

Brigitte, Rothkirch is a wildform. Very desirable in hybridizing. It has nice long tendrils and is an aurea. The seeds Annapet has a big dose of Rothkirch too for Rothkirch is the Mom of Butterfly.

Some people get RK to bloom very dark, I never have! Here she is tonight!

Very Classy

Corte Madera, CA

kell, you're right, two weeks is not long at all. funny all the little envelopes you sent me weren't dated. lol, you were in a daze. thank you so much for those little gems, i'll have projects all winter long.

not sure why i didn't start them on rockwool this time. rockwool is very low maintenance.

what a beauty.

Gardiner, ME(Zone 5a)

Kell,
Have not received Your address yet to send you the SASE,You probably forgot :-( ...too many brugs in your head huh ? LOL

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

I am not collecting SASE Brigette. I need to get my seeds labeled to send. I sent some out Saturday to a couple of people but had to hand label them. Took too long. I am slow.

Corte Madera, CA

one PLUMP seedling in 4" pot!

hubby looked at the seedlings in rose bands and said, "oh, that's why you want me to clear the driveway..."

happy-happy!

SE Arky, United States(Zone 8a)

Now, what's a rose band??

Huntsville, AL(Zone 7a)

Sherry, ditto!

Corte Madera, CA

hi, ladies.

rose bands may be called something else, but they are usually square plastic pots taller than wide. the size that i have measures 2" x 2" and 4.5" tall. i bought them hoping i could root some of my roses, then share them, but i found this forum instead, and been hanging out here more often.

i took a photo of a flat rate priority box. will fit 4 plants as long as they are no taller than 8.5".

So, you mail rootings in the rose bands? I mail rootings in wet paper towels and that plastic wrap and the box will hold lots, but you must be talking about bigger rootings, huh?? I like the shape of the rose bands and I'm using something round and about that size, Sam's 23 oz, clear water bottles and I really like them being deep and they are filling up with roots as we speak. I have five cuttings inside and they are really growing, while the GH cuttings are SLOW because of the FREEZE - and, that's what I want, but now I'm concerned about them, my goodness I hope they will be okay...

Corte Madera, CA

sherry, i haven't sent any of those. wishful thinking. i get very excited about products sometimes. lol. like MESSENGER....and then i forget to use it. yay.

SE Arky, United States(Zone 8a)

Hey, Moonglow, you are looking at a snake oil girl, I've tried everyone that's ever been mentioned, I LOVE stuff!!! LOL, I mean I really love stuff, I've got a cabinet full of Messengers...

La Grange, TX(Zone 8b)

Kell,
You have such beautiful Brugs.

Lodi, CA(Zone 9b)

Annapet,

We had root buds on all 4 cuttings the very next day! I thought one didn't make the trip, cause it was wilted to crispy stage, but it's doing fine! I potted the one that was already rooted, and it's got new growth already.

Thank you so much!
Joyce

Corte Madera, CA

betty, she sure does.

sherry, if they market a new product, i sure will try, too. i'm so glad they don't go door to door nowadays. lol.

joyce, i was worried about that since they are the newest tips of the brug. but i wanted to give you above the "y" so they will bloom sooner. you are welcome.
