While most of you in those "cold" states are bringing your hoya babies inside, I'm moving some of mine outside to enjoy the wonderful fall weather we have here in Arizona. This is why I keeping saying you can send me your hoyas for the winter:-).
Blessing,
Awanda
Moving hoyas outside
How about if I bring my Hoyas and stay with them for the winter? Why should they enjoy all the wonderful weather while I am shoveling snow???? LOL
Sue
What do you do when you get c o l d weather?
I'm with you, Sue! Let's pack up our hoyas and visit Awanda all winter. You're up north, I'm central.....stop by and get me on the way!
Oh, Awanda - - YOU MAKE ME SOOOO ENVIOUS! Loook at all your beautiful hoyas (and I see a few Epies, too, don't I??). Someday, I'm going to retire to a place where I don't have to move all my plants in and out when the season changes.
YOUR SETUP IS AWESOME! =O)
Carol what's "cold" weather:-)???? Our winters are usually very mild, the lowest it gets is in the low 40's. If it's going to get colder than that, they just go back into the greenhouse. I don't have all of my hoyas outside (don't have enough tree limbs), I rotate them every couple of days, so most of them get a chance to enjoy the weather. It's not a problem to put them back in the greenhouse, they're hanging right in front of it. Yep i have a few epi's hanging out there too, plus on the little table in the rear of the picture. There are stapelias in the biglots greenhouse. I moved my plumerias to the front porch, they get early/late afternoon sun. Betsy you and Sue, come on over:-)
Blessings,
Awanda

I'm green with envy, Awanda.
Ann
Go ahead and rub it in Awanda!
Yeah, but there IS a charm of the changing seasons/temps too. Like two nights ago when we took the dog out for the long evening walk. It was just above the 30s, no wind, full moon and quite dark. THAT is something I wouldn't like to be without! And what about enclosed photo? Exotic hoyas blooming when its snow outside. (I didn't have my digital camera back then.)

Hmmmmm low 40s, perfect jump in the pool or run naked down the road temps ;)
Christina trust me, we have a change of seasons/temps too. From our summer temps of 112 or more to our wonderful fall temps of 75-80:-).
Blessings,
Awanda
So, in other words you're having "cold" right about now?!
Christina
Christina not quite cold yet....maybe December - February when the high temps are around 55-60:-). You should see all of the "snow birds" (people from cold weather states) that flock here during our winter, the traffic becomes horrible.
Blessings,
Awanda
Gosh, Awanda, I was just about to post and ask you to adopt me. Then I saw 112°. How about if I just come during the winter and help you rotate plants instead!
Milan.. you're such a tease!! ;)
Barb
Barb:-), but as they say "it's a dry heat" which is MUCH better than low heat with humdity. Yes Milan is a tease, but for us "it's cold".
Blessings,
Awanda
Christina,
Love your photo. That would really brighten up a cold winters day.
Awanda your hoya's look nice and cozy, your weather is just about perfect right now.
I tell you, I will take dry and 95, over wet and 60 anyday! I live in the land of 10,000 lakes, oh brother!! Minnesota, people just think cold, but our humidity and temperature variations will drive you mad! Morning lows 20, highs by the 60's CRAZY!
Heather
Hmmmm. I thought it got colder in AZ....my bad. So now is the time you get to enjoy your hoyas outside, Awanda...how kewl!!!
Carol it depends on what part of Arizona you live in. In the higher elevations it snows. Flagstaff which is about 3 hours from here, receives lots of snow. We have several ski areas in Arizona. Even where Tami lives it gets colder there than here in Mesa:-)
Blessings,
Awanda
Yes we do, we have already received frost. Our highs have been in the middle 60's. Mesa gets about 20-25 degree hotter than where I am. Like Las Vegas.. Hot Hot Hot. We get snow but not like Flagstaff. During our monsoon, the humidity gets really high, and it just makes me sick... I can't breath, so I am very used to dry and so are my hoya's.
