Isn't this flower so cool??

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

I received this plant from a dear friend who knows I love variegates. THANK YOU, MEL. It has tons of flowers now.

What is that Kell? Most unusual!!!! It reminds me of a hoya -- but have never seen anything like that.

East Texas, United States(Zone 8a)

what is that beauty??? wow

Keaau, HI(Zone 11)

Hoya multiflora, variegated form. Yes...it is lovely Kell.

Cincinnati, OH(Zone 6b)

Beautiful!

Kell, that is gorgeous. I have a plain green one from Mel and I love the flowers on it.(at least I think that's what it is, I'm so bad about keeping the tags with the plants. It looks like a shooting star)

Casselberry, FL(Zone 9b)

Does it smell? I have a varigated hoya but it doesnt say what kind. It is nice an lush but no flowers. :^(

Those are very beautiful flowers. So perfect!

Knoxville, TN

WOW Kell! It loves you and looks beautiful. Way to grow!

Crestview, FL(Zone 7b)

That is stunning. I've never tried my hand at growing Hoyas.. are they finicky??

Knoxville, TN

I do not consider them "finicky" Trish. Most species are realtively forgiving and grow extrememly well in low light. Although they do not grow much in the winter, most of them don't loose their leaves and occasionally reward you with a bloom or 2. Also, many have a wonderful fragrance!

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 4a)

It's gorgeous, Kell!

Mel, I have lots of light.. hate dark houses. Do they like heat and humidity?? I've got plenty of that.

Kannapolis, NC(Zone 7b)

That's pretty, Kell. Mel will get you addicted to Hoya's before you know it. LOL

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Right Ric.

So far Trish, this one is so easy. I do not even have to water it on any schedule. It seems to be happy just getting along with whatever I offer it!! Lots of blooms too and they last for such a long time. This one is upright, at least so far.

Thanks again, Mel!!!

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

PS, NO way Ada. I am drowning in plants. A few would be fun but any more collections right now are out of the question. I am collected out.

You know when you have crossed over to being a collector when you buy a plant or object even if they are ugly and you hate them.

Knoxville, TN

Trish, Hoyas LOVE heat and humidity! Bright light can work too and a few can take a sunny spot. If you grow them in bright light, many will take on a reddish tint.
Kell, no more collections? Somehow I find that hard to believe!!!

Northern California, United States(Zone 9a)

Ok Kell, prove it! Just post that image of my car trunk yesterday!. Not anything in particular collection, just plant collections so she's OK.
Here's her cart from yesterday, only one of eventual 2. We happned to arrive just as the truckload of new plants were delivered so we 'helped' unwrap them of the brown paper packaging, just to see what was in. One gem after another, we were both practically hyperventalating. And this was a Long's drug store, the BEST nursery we have ever been too!
Ok, I am trying SO hard to keep from jumping in the car right now just talking about this!

Mel, you have her pegged pretty well.

Oh my, guess I should have cropped out some of that background LOL!

Niceville, FL(Zone 8b)

Trish, I have several hoyas. In the spring and summer, they are hanging on my front porch, which faces west. In the winter, I bring them in and hang them in front of a window. They do great around here. Mine bloomed this year.

Mine have developed roots in the air (you know our humidity). You are welcome to a clipping. It would be ready to plant.

Kell, I'll never believe you're collected out. LOL

Thank you for answering a question I had.I grew hoyas when I lived in S.Florida but didn't know if they would do well here. Now I know the answer.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Beautiful flower Rylaff.

Hey you guys, LOL, you know me so well. I am so bad. And Sue is not good for me. She is the only person I have ever met that is as sick as I am. LOL

We had 3 carts full of plants from Longs Drugstore. LOL LOL LOL. Imagine we now buy out a drugstore of their plants. Too funny. And YES CC, I took $300 out of my account at 10 AM and by 1 it was all gone. Now I am stuck at home for a while unless I do grand theft from my husband's account. And I am in debate about the best way to do it and not get caught for a while.

You both are tooooooo funny! But no fair, no fair that you have such an opportunity to find such awesome plants.
;p Donna

Knoxville, TN

My word Kell and Sue!!! If that is your haul from the drug store, I am afraid to ask what happened when you got to the nursery!!!

I am going to save the pictures to show Paul next time I get "the look" when I walk in with an arm load of plants!

Kannapolis, NC(Zone 7b)

I leave my plants in the car if DH is home and wait til he goes to bed to unload or if he isn't home, I mix them in among the forest of the other plants. LOL

Columbia, SC(Zone 8a)

Kell/Sue, wish I had a drug store like that around here. Y'all are so fun, wish I could join your shopping spree.

rylaff, that hoya is just begging to be potted up. I recently purchased a few cuttings but I don't know if they will make it.

Mandeville, LA(Zone 9a)

I don't feel so bad after seeing these pics. I went today to buy saucers and pots to bring in the anthuriums for the winter and there in the nursery were MORE anthuriums and some BIGGER ones so I bought three more. Now I'm looking for a place to put eleven big anthuriums for the winter.

Northern California, United States(Zone 9a)

We even pot shop like crazy women although we haven't done that together yet, no car big enough! We get SUCH good deals!! Here's is my $16.61 load a few months ago.

I can't believe you got all those pots for $16! They're really nice too!

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Have you already filled all those pots up with new plants, Sue?

Northern California, United States(Zone 9a)

Oh yes, that was the last time they had the cart special, I have had to go back since for more.
Scary, isn't it.
