This is one of Kells seedlings I grew out for her. It is really hard to tell what they look like this far into the season. Our nights are down in the 40's now, and the brugs . colors can appear lighter than what they should be.
Equador Pink x Red
But it's still pretty!! :-)
Its very pretty... good picture...

Patricia, It sure is pretty.
Hi Patrica!! Did the cuttings make it home OK? I hope they root for you.
Well, I can't say I am real impressed but it really is way too late to judge them. She has good genes to be a dark one though.
I am in the same boat. I have tons of new seedlings now blooming and I am not even bothing to label them. It is just too late in the season. I hope we have a mild winter for I am not even bringing them inside. It is sink or swim time. They are on their own. I have so many I would need to move to house them all. I have so many other tropicals I want to put in the hoophouse this winter.
I just went out and took some pics. Here is Red the Dad, she was washed out last week but today has a bit of color back. But still nothing great.
That being said, here is a new seedling that is a little past prime. I didn't go see it since last Thursday, my jaw dropped today.
It is as dark as the picture shows. And it goes all the way up. It is the same cross, a pod mate, as the brug in the previous picture. Makes me wonder if the first flushes are the dark ones.
I tagged it so I will know to get it going early spring. Too late now for a second flush I would think.
And here is a 3rd pod mate of the above 2. This one opened it first flower today so it is still coloring up. It is pink not orange which I like. But usually they open pink and then age to orange. But I can still have high hopes. LOL
Anyway Patricia, I am at a loss as to what makes them color up sometimes and not at other times. It is more than just temp. That much I have figured out. I guess humidity is another factor but i am not sure.
My favorite is the one that was dark in the summer. I love that it is pendant. I love the shape. The color as it is now looks very pretty to my eye. It must be breathtaking when it is darker.
I agree, that one is beautiful!!
I will keep a cutting of this one Kell and see what it does this next Spring.
I think they ALL are pretty....I have been BITTEN by the not only rose, daylilie bug but lately by the Brug and datura bug :-)...bitten by the Brug and Datura bug BIG TIME !
Started some datura seeds a few days ago and some have just sprouted :-)
And THEN I just received some Brug cuttings a few days ago ,I keep on checking everyday to see if I see some roots that have startet. To be honest I keep checking several times a day hahaha....oh man ANOTHER OBSESSION !
Brigitte
THANKS!!
OK Patricia. Lets hope it shapes up!!
Bridgette, I feel your excitment. I have gone nuts this year. I am so into Phormiums, and now I have discovered Coprosma. (not to mention the EEs and Aroids and gingers I have been gathering) There are over 60 cultivars and they are all calling out to me. I should just move to Australia. LOL Isn't it so much fun to discover new things to occupy one's thoughts?
Oh my...its to drool over....love that dark color....Judy
Who are Red's parents??? I love her Patricia, she might like a trip to Arky, ha!
I don't know who Red's parents are Sherry, maybe Kell will answer that for us since it is her cross.
Patricia she is beautiful.

WOW Patrica, it is getting dark. Now I wonder how dark she will be in the summer. Too cool!!! Now I am excited. LOL
I have no clue Sherry. I only knew for about 15 mintues then forgot. LOL. And the tag has long since slipped way down in the pot. I have it on my computer somewhere. I am so bad about remembering parent plants. The very first post I made on Red before she even opened I listed the parents. I will have to go back and see. I think it is EP and L'A but I could be very wrong.
Red was one of Susie's hybrids, I just grew out the seed.
Kell I have two more of this same cross that are starting to bloom. I am hoping they open before Sunday morning so I can get pictures. haven't been out yet this morning, still too dark. But one of them was already showing some pink last night.
Too bad it is fall and so cold!!! None of my crosses are now taking either an I have so many blooms all over. I tell you!!! I am freezing lots of pollen so in spring I will have the pollen for the crosses I want early!!
Patricia, Sue and I went back to Longs. OH MY OH MY OH MY. I went nuts. Sue was more controlled because she gotten the what for from her DH. I expect the what for any minute. LOL Had you noticed the hoyas there? I took some pics for you. I am sure you have them already but one was so weird. This one is H. coronaria. The color was so odd.
Kell, I knew you were going back to get your plant. I hope you ladies had a great time and found some new goodies. I hope to go back as soon as I get home.
