Alocasia Brian Williams

Louisville, KY

This was one of my first hybrids and has done fairly well it's still new to the market and has taken about 3 years to get to the people. I hear that the few places selling it are really starting to push it as a great landscape plant for zones 8 and higher. It also makes a great tropical plant for us northern states treating it just like Macorrhiza. Or as a house plant because it does not rot as easily as others like amazonica and similar varieties.

The following photos are not of the original plant on the market but are the seedlings not yet released to the market of the same hybrid. I had 15 seedlings all of which are different and unique. Only two have been released.

It has flowers, did you pollenate? I would love to try growing some from seeds.

Kannapolis, NC(Zone 7b)

No, I didn't pollinate it. I'm not sure I know how to pollinate them as I've never tried.

Louisville, KY

It seems very hard to breed with possibly it is sterile? I have not been able to breed with and have tried 3 to 4 times.
