I just wish all of you could breathe in this heavenly scent.

I've taken my 'Whiskers' brugmansia inside and it's in the basement (under the living room for those of you that were here at the RU)

About 5 PM until ~9am the scent of Whiskers wafts upstairs and fills the living room with it's scent. It's hard to describe, other than.... beautiful.

It's dropping lots of leaves, and after this last hurrah I'm sure there will be some die back. At least I'll be able to cut it back then and it should be small enough to get out of the basement come spring. Whiskers is my fav. so far for size, preformance, shape and of course fragrance.

enjoy

Linda, your Whiskers looks lovely. I too brought mine in, and I love the scent that my kitchen has in the evening, sometimes even still in the morning. On occasion, it drifts up the stairs too!!! I have two blooms open, and several more to come yet!

Will take a picture of this pretty one,
The colour is a pale yellow almost a creamy light yellow..

I agree with you Linda on Whiskers for production with little effort and fragrance; but I was kinda hooked on Isabella for sheer size of blooms and that soft pink that is so lovely. I envy youall you're doubles and triples which don't seem to want to do their stuff for me.

Wow I wish my brug looked like that. Very nice Linda. How old is that plant?

When you cut it back how much do you cut off?
It is a very lovely brug..

It's beautiful, Linda! Wow.

My small brugs seem to be stuck at seedling size ... but your picture has inspired me to keep at it, and see if there isn't something else I can do for them. It's really stunning. :-)

Thanks all, it's still doing it's thing...

Echoes - it's 3 years old and was almost as big after 2 years. It's the biggest one that I have, the secret is to feed feed feed during the spring and summer.

Wilma - when I cut them back, I leave 5-6 leaf nodes above each Y. That is where the new growth will come from. If it's not too tall, and hasn't Y'd, I don't bother to cut it back.

Keep at it Shannon, it's worth the wait.

Pam, I've had seedlings grow to 8' before they Y'd, it's a real pain in the butt trying to smell them when you can't reach them....

Thanks for the info, on how to cut them, and that is what I did to my brugs this summer was feed them and water them with the pond filter water when hubby cleaned the sponge filter every week, so the got fed really good..
