Hello from Central Mississippi

Bay Springs, MS(Zone 8a)

Hello! to all you great new gardening friends. I am very pleased to be a new subscriber to DG.I'm afraid our relationship might be a little one sided and I'm sorry for that. I'm a fairly new gardener
and I'm afraid I won't have much to contribute. But I'm really anxious to learn all I can. The gardeners
I have met are friendly and generous and I'm sure everybody here is too.

I live in south central Mississippi in zone 8a so the things I deal with are cold, wet springs and long humid, HOT, dry summers. But, we have a growing season that is over 200 days a year that can be both a blessing and a curse.

We moved to a new place 3 years ago and I am still working on starting my garden. This is the first time I've really had the time to devote to a garden and I'm loving it. My mother is a very
talented gardener and she has taught me a lot. But I know I've got a lot to learn and I'm looking forward to it.

Well, just wanted to say Hi and I'm glad to be here.

Happy Gardening!
Debbie

Debbie, you are going to love it here, I've only been on DG for a short time, but have given up going to other garden sites, because this one is so superior, and the people so friendly!

Welcome. Don't worry about feeling like you haven't much to contribute, just ask all those questions and we just love to answer.Plus, we love pictures of gardens so post yours if you can. Lots of new gardeners here, and lots of old ones too. Look around on the forums and see what else DG has to offer. Have fun.
