Mary Poppins after I brought her inside.......

Bartlesville, OK(Zone 6a)

I have been having trouble all summer getting my hibiscus to bloom. I wintered these over last year and put them back out this spring and they just haven't done anything. So when the temps started to get low at night I went ahead and potted them up and brought them in. Well.......my Mary Poppins decided to have a bloom!!!

I watched it everyday like I a mother hen, and then it started to open and then.....WOW, did it ever open. It is so pretty. Lasted a day and a half, better than outside even. Usually they last one day outside. Here are a few pics. LOL

This is the one where it just beginning to open.

A real beauty. Mary Poppins is one of those hibiscus one must have ... and another five hundreds more. I think it will available in Europe next year so I'll try to find it.
It's a shame your hibiscus don't give you many flowers. Maybe they're still too young.
Did you try to self polinate this bloom? Hybridizing is another game that gives pleasure when you see a seedpod forming ... and it will give you seeds to start new plants.

Regards

Carlos
