Last hurrah for roses in Newfoundland

St. John's, NL(Zone 5b)

I was over to a friends garden today to see his late rose display. Still quite impressive. Here's a few shots. I don't know the cultivars to most of these.

Very nice Todd, some of them do like to hang on. It is nice to get that late display

What happened to your Rododendron site?

Beautiful, and the nice part is that they'll be back next year.

Beautiful pics as always Todd. For looks alone, I think my faves in this gallery are Evelyn and the first one. I like the look of flowers with different colours or different shadings in their petals. --Ginny

Thanks for the beautiful photo's. I really like the Evelyn one and if it smells that's even better. How nice it must be to still have some flowers like these.

Hi Todd,

Lovely photos. I especially like Evelyn. Too bad the yellow one has no fragrance. I love yellow, but I'm not about to waste precious garden space on a rose with no fragrance. I've not has as good luck with yellow roses surviving though. But I have a good one now. Not sure of its variety except it's a floribunda, but it had about 6 blooms last week.

I only have two roses in my own garden and one of them is Evelyn...the fragrance is wonderful and the plant is quite floriferous and for me, surprisingly tough.
