Really 'Zippy' Cranberry Relish !

Frederick, MD(Zone 6a)

This makes about 3 cups. You can use it as your typical side dish to turkey, or....instead of mayo on your turkey or chicken sandwiches, or instead of butter on your baked sweet potatoes, or use it as a fun dessert substitute....top a warm piece of cornbread with it :)

Cranberry-Jalapeno Relish

2 oranges
1 12 oz bag fresh cranberries
3/4 c granulated white sugar
2 T seeded and chopped jalapeno pepper
2 T minced peeled fresh ginger
2 tsp ground cumin
1 T fresh squeezed lime juice

Finely grate 1 Tablespoon of orange peel. Peel and remove the white pitth and seeds from both of the oranges. Cut the sections in half.

Place all ingredients in a food processor and pulse until the cranberries are coarsely chopped. Put in glass bowl; cover and let sit for at least 30 minutes.....the longer the better :)
