rooting brugs

morehead, KY(Zone 6a)

Hello!
I am no expert at brugs at all, but by the generous nature of KAREOKE or Doris who sent me 15 different cuttings I am well on my way to having a nice collection. I got these about 2 weeks ago and i live way in the sticks and still have to use a cistern for water. I have all 15 rooted already and i think the trick is i use the rain water to root everything and have great success. I think that "city" water must have more chemicals or something in them because i have never been able to root so many things since moving here. I do hate that i have to ration water from time to time, but everything from african violets to jap maple cuttings root for me using my rain water. I am just putting this out there due to alot of post concern rooting brugs. Maybe try collecting rain water and use this and see if my "theory" works for you.

Lucy, use some generic gallons of artesian spring water or any other ...........

They have all the minerals filtered out.

Can I use just distilled drinking water then? I alsways have gallons of that here cause of my cat....He had stone removed earlier this year, and they said to use that....Good, I will do that.

Thanks!!

LOL That's okay....LOL....It's a long story how I got this name... My friend did it way back when I first got a puter.....She was trying to hook me up in MSN's gaming zone, and anything I told her to use was taken......Lucy, as my mom used to call em when I was little.....Taken......before I knew it, she typed this in....It took....So hence the LucyGoose......LOL....

Happy Gardening.....:-)

HEY, great to hear they are rooting, RAIN WATER is the best, our water has so many chemicals in it I have to have a water softner, so I have one faucet outside with the plain water, works a lot better for me BUT my son is getting me a rain barrel to catch the rain from the gutter.
