Mat(t) went over...

Excelsior, MN(Zone 4a)

the Rainbow Bridge today. Mat(t) was my big fluffy orange and white kittyboy. (For all you Horsie fans, picture Horsie with orange instead of grey) He was only 6 years old. He's been sick for the past week and a half. Early last week, I realized that he was losing weight because I could feel his backbone some when I petted him. He acted fine, though and was eating well. Yet by last Thursday, he developed diarhea and threw up as well. I have had him to the vet's 3 times in the last week. Ultimately, today he was diagnosed with stomach cancer. The vet called me at work while he was still under aneshesia. I had them go ahead and send him on while he was still under.

I'm crying so hard, I can barely write this. You see, the worst of it is, I didn't get to tell him goodbye. I know I did the right thing by letting him go that way. But, the selfish part of me kind of wishes I could have had a little more time with him prior to letting him go. It was all so sudden. He was fine one day, and a week and a half later, he had lost 3 pounds and is now gone. Please, everybody, go hug your kitties and tell them how much you love them
