Ive just recieved a Sunset cutting and looked it up and found its a variegated brug..it looks like Maya...Are they 2 different brugmansias?...Judy
Is Sunset and Maya the same brug?
Judy, I think the jury is still out on this. Some say they are the same Brug and others don't know.
I was wondering whether Maya and Peaches and Cream were the same?
I have both blooming now (P&C and Maya) and the flowers are very different. P&C has larger, much larger flowers, turning peach very early....Maya's flowers are smaller (duh) and just turn a tint of peach sometimes. Uh, that's how they work for me.
P&C blooms will look like other versicolors the way they hang straight down, and they are quite long. Maya blooms are shorter and nod just a bit. P&C, for me, grew very slow and the leaf nodes were extremely close together.

Thank you for your answers. My small Maya had 3 blooms 2 weeks ago and it did have slightly nodding blooms. They had splashes of light peach on the skirt. Otherwise the blooms remained creamy.
