This story was in my local paper yesterday, and I just had to let all the hummer lovers out there know how thrilled I was. A green violet-eared hummingbird has never been seen in Iowa before. Here is the link:

And a beauty it is!! I love the coloring. I hope you get a chance to see it in the spring....that would be my guess for sitings....or as it gets really warm in your area. I have a couple of hummers that visit my yard. I'm always thinking one of these days I'm going to sit out there and wait for the perfect shot for a picture....but I'm not a very patient person...I would be distracted by the smallest weed LOL Good luck mg!!
