Second frost predicted for tonight--bye bye peppers. Keeping fingers crossed for my annuals.
I did get a box out to one of the folks who contacted me for the plants for postage. Have run out of time to wait any longer for others. Am off to visit my sister out east and still have to pack. It is almost 3 AM Sunday.and I leave on Monday AM- running late is my middle name.
It has been a tough year for many gardeners here, on so many levels; but you all perservere and continue to be a wonderful bunch to hang in the garden with.
See you in the garden and the forums.
Have a great week.

Jan,
Ya made me laugh out loud with that one. Yep, even up by Gainesville, ya still need the a/c and my hair has been sticking to my neck and face all week, no Dori, not tar, sweat!!!
:^)))
Yep..splat with the tar!! Dori-- I have the feathers ready..grab an armful!! :)
It was 85 last week and then dropped 40 degrees the next day-with frost advisories--peppers looking a tat peckish!!!! I don't sweat when I garden-I gush perspiration. Making a headband out of Brawny paper towel allows me to continue without making windshield wipers for my glasses. I am going to write the company..their ad with the hunky Mr.Johnson making a birthday cake for his wife is well and good..but I Really know how to use those towels.
Wish I had a few more months to garden.........It is looking kind of drab and the size of the acorns (half again their usual size..does not make me feel good about the upcoming dormant season. BBRRRR
Hey Molly,
Time to start the watermelons and canteloupes up there. I started a few here this week and will let them take over a corner of the back yard fenced off from the dogs. When I lived in Alachua, the land lord had hundreds of acres of melons and let the tenants go pick whatever we wanted. My horse was in seventh heaven. She loved watermelon.
