Pink babanas..Am I seeing right??

Vieques, PR(Zone 11)

We planted our pink banana back in June and it had 4 very healthy shoots.

We removed one pup about 3 weeks ago from the mother plant and it is doing well in another bed.

This morning hubby found this. A pink pup! or is it. Could this be fruit sprouting?

The only mature pink banana we have seen had fruit hanging as a normal banana bunch would.

Anyone have any clue what is happening here?

I'm thinking a pup.
Looks like some of my basjoo pups right after I moved it.

It is a pup that has been damaged when very small, probably when you removed the other pup. It should recover and grow normally. Bananas only make fruit when they flower.

Cincinnati, OH(Zone 6b)

The next few leaves may look rather bad.
After the damaged portion grows out they should go back to normal.
My 'Bordelon' got damaged when I was moving it outside this Spring.
The first few leaves were all stem w/ no blade.

Thanks guys.

I checked it this morning and it is the same. We are getting plenty of rain so that may help speed the growth rate.

Thanks again

MG,

I am not sure if you got my eamil but the pic did not show up when I opened the photos.

Can you resend it??

K

Bloomingdale, OH(Zone 6a)

ok, I tried a different way, did it work?

mg

sarahjo, I sent it to you too, did it work?

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Knot, give your banana some fertilize. That will get it in gear and make that pup grow!

Vieques, PR(Zone 11)

Ummm...good idea. It has been about a month and a half since it had nana food.

But it is raining, PC took some friends to the airport and I have a couple coming over for dinner at 4:30 and all I have made so far is dessert. Chocolate - Peanut Butter Cheese Bars...Yum-Yum..

K

Plus it would be nice if I got a shower in there somewhere :o)

Vieques, PR(Zone 11)

MG.

How funny.

You should get an award for that somewhere!!!!

ZZTOPSOIL is sending me some oddity tomato plants next week. Maybe I will have a pic to share soon.

Congrats. Did you eat it?

K

Bloomingdale, OH(Zone 6a)

I didn't grow it, my SIL did. She sent me the pics. I don't know if they ate it or not, she did say something about trying to get seeds from it.

Pretty realistic, huh?

I can Email them to anyone else too. **Adults only**
