aquarium for my cat

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

Ok, so the kitten didn't work out for Lucky. Being a cat, he loves to watch moving things.... he watches TV all the time.... we have birdfeeders by his favorite windows, with padded cat "seats" on a special table there, with a step stool for him to get up on it. He loves to watch things, but he can't chase them very well. I think he would really like an aquarium. I know I would.

I've thought of getting an aquarium for some time.

I've posted for info over on Gardenweb....

But does anyone here do aquariums? Have any website or books I can get at the library for info?

I loved goldfish as a kid, but think tropicals would be the way to go as I hear goldfish are to messy in a tank.

We had 2 tanks as a kid - I remember they were work. I've been looking for a while though. There are MANY neat plants now for tanks, and that interests me a lot.

I saw a 20 gal. at PetSupplies Plus that was on a wood "stand" that I could afford for $125 - but I bet the gravel etc, would add another $125 to it easy. They also had "starter tanks" 10 gal and 15 gal for under $75 that were table top and countertop models.

Lucky, being 3 legged, can't jump very high, so I would need something that could sit on a table or be on a sturdy stand that he could not knock over, and that I could put a step stool by for him to have access to see it... or that I could put behind a chair that he could get on the back of to lay on and watch.

What we won't do for our pets. LOL! Well, for me too....

At least if it doesn't work, I can turn it into a tererrium and I don't have to take it back to a foster home.... :-0
