Rachael Ray of Food Network to Host New Talk Show

Culpeper, VA(Zone 7a)

Just caught this in the news. All I can say is a hearty GOOD GRIEF!!! While I do like her "30-Minute Meal" show, have to admit that her other shows leave me cold. That added to her new line of cooking knives, the new Food TV shows slated for her, & now this??? Talk about Holy Overexposure Batman!!! I think if I hear that giggle or hear the word "Yummo" one more time I'm gonna scream - lol!!!!

"LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Food Network personality Rachael Ray has signed a deal with Oprah Winfrey's production company to host a daytime syndicated talk show targeted to launch in fall 2006.

"People know me for my love of food, but I have so much more I want to share," Ray said. "Our show's going to be all about taking a bigger bite out of life. I want people to see themselves in this show because life is full of messes and successes, and getting there is half the fun."

Ray is the host of the Food Network series "30-Minute Meals," "$40 a Day," "Inside Dish" and "Tasty Travels." She also has written 10 cookbooks, with another due out next month, and a monthly lifestyle magazine, Every Day With Rachael Ray, debuts next month.

Ray will continue to appear on Food Network, but no decision has yet been made as to whether the syndicated talk show also will air on the Scripps-owned channel.

Following in the footsteps of Dr. Phil, Ray will become only the second personality that Winfrey will develop on her own talk show in anticipation of a new show's launch. Ray has appeared on "The Oprah Winfrey Show" in the past, but her appearances will now become more frequent.

Ray got her start in television doing a weekly segment for the evening news on WRGB-TV in Albany, N.Y.

The new show, based in New York, will be produced by Viacom-owned King World Prods. in association with Winfrey's Harpo Prods. and Scripps Network."
