Sorry...so sorry

Keaau, HI(Zone 11)

To all of you to whom I promised seed pods from that wild cross...there were 20+ pods and I picked them, addressed the envelopes and EVEN wrote to a few saying they were on their way.....then....

Just in case....I opened up a pod and opened up the seeds and they were all rotted. We have had a VERY wet and very cool summer...mostly wet....and tho' I picked them early and tried to dry them....nothing I could do with all the humidity.....sorry.

And...the good news is that this brug seems to be a real trollop and produces tons of pods...AND, I have all the envelopes addressed already so as soon as I get a ripe pod...that isn't rotten...off it goes to you!!! And from the looks of the bugs, bees ad moths...this could be on any brug at any time.

Really sorry guys....

Aloha,
Carol

So Carol, is it true you are offering them all a trip to your house so they won't be too heartbroken!!! What a gal.

I put my seeds under my lights on my seedling table for a day to dry them. Or they get moldy.

Keaau, HI(Zone 11)

Good idea, Kell. But by the time the pods got to be of any size at all, they were moldy. We DO have dry spells...sometimes...

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Oh I get it, they molded even before you picked the pods. HUMIDITY PLUS!!!

Keaau, HI(Zone 11)

YES...and the brugs love it!!! And the bees are staying out of the rain in the flowers! But we haven't been able to mow, or Round-up...and ......

I promised myself I would not gripe about the rain during the 3 month drought!! But....what is the time limit on promises to oneself?

Myrtle Beach, SC

Carol, I am so sorry for your disappointment. Hope the rest of them are trouble free for you.
Margo
