Brought in my brugs (10), and as I stripped the leaves I noticed a few buds
hoping they will bloom. and can't beleive how tall a couple of the plants are 6 feet,
you can justmake out the bud,, blends too much into the few leaves that are left on the plant.
one was started by seeds this Feb and the other was a cutting I got from a friend..

Brugs
Hi Wilma, do you let your brugs go dormant over the winter? I heard there was a big snow storm in Wpg this week. I try and keep mine going indoors and in my green house.
Cindy
Cindy
this is my first year for them, so hopefully they willkeep all winter in the basement.
Yes we had snow here in Wpg, but it is all gone this morning and we are to have a beautiful week-end with highs of 15C
Great time to finish up the yard work
? for you Cindy, did I meet you this spring or I am I thinking of another Cindy who I got all those houseplants from this spring from her parents?
Wilma
They should bloom Wilma but the blooms will be smaller than spring/summer blooms. Do you know the cross? When the temps start to drop in the fall the pinks bloom almost white and the yellows/oranges get deeper colour than summer.
Liz some are from the RU that Ginny brought back for me and OFG had sent me some seeds and also an other lady from the garden group that I belong to sent me seeds ( unnamed)
so really I do not know but can't wait for a bloom and i will take a picture,
Wilma
I love growing brugs from seed. You'll love their blooms now but they might be a totally different colour next summer. That's why everyone waits for the second season to see what they have. I hope you post pics when they bloom.
Liz I will post when they do bloom,
I can see the buds growing bigger every day.
Wilma
I never knew that the second season the colors could be different on seed grown brugs. I have two I have grown from seed, one has bloomed white, the other hasen't bloomed yet. Now I will be really interested to see how they develop. They are around 5-6 feet tall right now.
Wilma, yes I am the Cindy you met this spring in Headingly. I hope the plants did well for you.

Welcome to DG.
nice to hear from you again and so sorry for the loss of you Mom.
Hope your Dad likes his new place, and hope he is not having too much of a hard time adjusting to his new life out in BC.
Plants are doing great, have shared some with my friends..
Fencing went to Ginny ( inanda)
garden junk went to Brenda,
which are both on this garden group.
Ginny was just so happy to receive the wire fence..
and I am sure Brenda put the garden junk to good use.
take care
Wilma
