Lemon custard pie?

My dh has been oooohing and ahhhing about a pie he had at a banquet a few weeks ago. I thought it was a lemon merangue pie but when I was quizzing him today in anticipation of his birthday dinner coming up he said there was no merangue. So I am wondering if there is a lemon custard pie? He said it was real real lemony. going to make that instead of a cake. any one have such a recipe?
