Hi All, I'm new in town.
Last night I replied to 'My New Puppy' and posted a pic of my rescue dog. I was soon told that I should start a new thread, so here it is.
I met Sarah on the first day of my search for a new dog after having recently lost my Lucy to Pancreatic cancer. To me, Lucy was the most beautiful dog I had ever seen,a rare breed 'Portuguese Podengo'. Sarah was 14 months old, overweight and very shy with a broken leg. Just a regular Pit Bull mix with long legs. I was not impressed, so I kept looking for weeks but as time went by I got to know her. The day she sat on my foot showed that she had chosen me. That was over 5 years ago and I've never doubted my decision to adopt her. Her leg has had one small operation to remove a steel pin in her femur and other than a slight 'pigeon toe' step, she is fine.
She now weighs 10% less and looks about right. I still think she is a plain looking dog but she is the best buddy I've ever had.
